FO: Cynthia

Finished today, and photographed right off the needles, without blocking. The house still smells a little smoky, so I don’t want to wash and block it for a few days.

Cynthia

Pattern: Cynthia, by Melissa Leapman, from the book “Hot Knits“.
Yarn: Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, in Olive green, 2.5 skeins
Needles: US 7 (4.5mm) for the body, US 5 and 6 (3.75mm and 4mm) for the ribbing and collar.

Ravelry project here.

My gauge was off from the pattern gauge, so I knit a little bit in between size M and L. I probably should have just followed the pattern for size L, as it’s a little smaller than I had planned, but I think it will be fine after washing.

Knit in the round to the armholes, but otherwise no modifications. This is a really well-written and well-thought-out pattern. Very nice details, like the 1×1 rib at the armhole edging.

I’ll definitely use this pattern again, both as written, and also maybe making changes like adding sleeves, leaving off the cable, and/or not adding knitting the mock turtleneck.

Oh hey – look at my sidebar! I’ve knit 8 miles of yarn so far this year.

    8 MILES? I’m lucky if I’ve knit 8 skeins.

Wow, that is a lot of knitting. The sweater/tank turned out lovely, it would be perfect in our cool mornings up here.

Her debut was last night and we didn’t even have time oooh and aaah! You’re cranking out sweaters right and left. We can hardly keep up!

    Very pretty, Cheryl!

I, on the other hand, feel like I have knit the same 8 feet over and over again for the past three months…
