Dark, Rainy Days

Edit: Make that dark, snowy, days…

Do not make for good indoor photographs of lace.
Feather Duster Scarf

Especially when it’s still dawn.

But you get the idea, I’m sure. I was going to just show you a shapeless blob, but with a little help from my pins, you can get a better look at the pattern.

I’ve got an upcoming road trip to Las Vegas, and I think Shauna will be good car knitting. So I’m giving myself a little break from her to work on something else.

This is the Feather Duster Scarf, by Susan Lawrence. I’m stash busting and using some Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud, in Iris. I originally started it on US 7/4.5 mm needles, but it seemed too loose, so I went down to US 6/4.0 mm needles and started over. In retrospect, I think it might have been better on the larger needles, but I’m not going to change it again. I have two skeins of the yarn, so I’ll see how far one skein takes me, and if it’s not big enough, I’ll break into the second.

Oh, I like it as is. I’ll be curious to see how you do with yarnage because I’ve got some of that yarn stashed away somewhere.

  3. Chris says:

Oh, enjoy your trip! It’s rainy and icy and dark here…

  4. Stacey says:

Great… you’re leading me down another path of ruin. Stop knitting cool stuff now.

I have quite a few skeins of that yarn lying around.

Wait! What! Did you knit it in a day!? You’re going to love that shawl.
