I decided to make another capelet/shoulder shrug/cowl-thingie, but I’m just making it up as I go along.
I decided to do cables horizontally, and knit until it’s the right size to go around my body and arms comfortably. Then I’ll graft the ends together and pick up along one edge and knit upwards towards the neck. I’m not sure yet what I’ll do for that. Ribbing, probably. I’ll worry about it when I get there.
And to get rid of make use of some of the yarn in my stash, I’m going to make a large scarf out of a couple of skeins of Alpaca Cloud. I’m just knitting it in stockinette on big needles, so it will be a mindless project for whenever I need something to knit that doesn’t take any concentration (other than keeping the yarn from slipping off the needles).
I’m sure this one will be long in the making. But it will be a good break from the patterns I’m planning to start next year.

Both cool ideas! Looking forward to see how they go.
Happy Holidays – stay warm!
I dig the sideways cables!
Sounds like fun. I can’t wait to see what you are planning on knitting in the New Year.
Those are both going to be gorgeous.
very smart work, inspiring mind.
Love those cables! Looking forward to seeing what they grow up to be.
Looks very cushy! Can’t wait to see what you have planned for next year!
