I’ve asked The Pontiff several times if he wanted me to knit a hat for him. He always said that he only wanted one if it was dense and very warm, like a ski hat.
So I’m finally getting around to it, and making Doubleknitski – a double-knitted ski hat, out of Patons Classic Merino (stash busting!). I’m using a heathered medium gray on one side, and black on the other.
He thinks he wants it long enough to turn up the bottom edge, but it’s so thick already, I don’t know if that’s going to be necessary. I’ll have him try it on when it’s long enough, and he can decide whether he’ll want to fold it up or not.

Man hat.

What a good spouse you are. It’s looks like a fabulous hat.
Dark gray and black double knitting in December. You are a good woman.
If doubled the hat might be too warm! Love the color.
I love the way it lays, it is inviting and reminds me of coziness and warmth.
Exceptional job!
That will be warm indeed! I’ve got some serious stash busting ahead of me come January so I will look forward to seeing this hat being knit!
That will be a very warm hat!
