Weekend Fun

The Pontiff and I headed down to Las Vegas for the 4th of July weekend. He told me we had tickets to see “America” on Saturday night at the Cannery. But he was wrong. It was actually “Jay and the Americans” on Friday night. He said “Same thing.” Sheesh.

Nonetheless, we had great seats – 4th row center. The show was very entertaining, not only for the music, but also for the band history and trivia they told us between songs.

Jay and the Americans

The group was is now on Jay #3 (Jay Reincke – on the right, holding the microphone). Most of the group’s hits were with Jay #2 (David “Jay” Black).

They said when we heard Jay #3 sing “Cara Mia”, we’d know why they hired him. And we did – he could certainly belt out the songs.

I couldn’t get a good photo of them, but they were all wearing killer red boots that would have made Susan cry.

Red Boots

Aside from the concert, we had a really nice weekend at my BIL’s house. We spent a large part of it in their pool. It’s amazing how chilly 104 degrees can feel when you get out of a swimming pool. We didn’t go anywhere for the evening of the 4th – but from their back yard, we had a great display of fireworks all around us, that went on for hours.

Hope your weekend was good, too!

Hot pink velvet? Isn’t that illegal in Utah? ;^)

He’s right. If you’re heard one musical group, you’ve heard them all. ;^)
