One of the local galleries near my house sells these interesting Navajo dye charts, showing the plants used for the dyes, samples of the yarn color produced by the dyes, and a small weaving. (Click to go to Flickr for larger images.)
They make for a lovely and interesting work of art. Guess who wants for her birthday this year.

Hmmm…. I wonder who….
It does look good with her sweater…
Oooh, that IS neat! Now I want one too.
Me, too!
Me, three! That is fascinating.
Does that mean she’s going to grow the plants and start dyeing her own?
Tell Margene I thought of a dyer’s garden, but it takes too much land. Hee.
That’s IT. We must have collectively a thousand readers, right? That’s only a buck apiece, and I could have one HELLofa 50th birthday gift. LOL
Ok… what store, do they have an online store? Give the deets! That would be perfect above the fireplace! Mix a little more Texas and Stacey together. He is part American Indian. No, I’m an idiot and don’t remember which tribe.
Happy birthday, grrl! Hope your celebration is wonderful.
I hear somebody is having a birthday this weekend….have a great one!
Happy Birthday!
Hope you have a wonderful birthday!
Happy birthday in advance!!
A little Margene birdie mentioned someone has a birthday coming up. Hope your birthday joy exceeds all expectations!
happy birthday!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Happy Birthday grrl!!! I hope the upcoming year brings lots of good things.
Do the first three guesses count? Which sweater of yours is she wearing? I want a Navajo Dye Chart now too.
The sweaters look great! Why did you knit Thermal flat instead of in the round? Better shaping?
Cancel the flat/round query. I went to Ravelry. Like I’m not getting distracted enough.
Oh, that’s way cool. Happy Birthday! Whenever your birthday is!
