Or: A Study in Green
My last gin posting was blue. This one will be green. Because we’re all about equal opportunity here. And because this is one drink where I definitely prefer Tanqueray to Bombay.
Gimlet: Gin and Rose’s Lime Juice. Mix to your preferred proportions – 1 part Rose’s Lime juice to anywhere from 1 part to 4 parts gin, according to your taste.* If you insist, you may replace the gin with vodka, but the Rose’s Lime juice is essential. Shake or stir with ice, and pour into a cocktail glass. If you don’t like such a strong drink, feel free to add a bit of club soda. I won’t tell. Then drink and be merry. Very merry.
*What’s my taste? I like it with a lot of lime, so I mix 1 oz lime juice with about 1 to 2 oz gin. If you’re not sure what you’d like, start out with half lime juice and half gin (or vodka). If the lime flavor is too strong, then add more gin (or vodka) until you decide what proportion you like. Or add club soda to lighten up the whole drink.

Vodka! Martinis and gimlets and HELL, just straight or on the rocks.
Just sayin’ !
Happy Saturday!
Cheryl, if anyone knew you/of you only from your blog, they’d think you were a total lush! LOL
I love when my favorite bloggers give me drink recipes… you rock!
gotta go get some Rose’s lime juice and give this a test (with vodka of course). I’m guessing I’ll be liking it with just a wee bit of the lime juice
We drank gimlets one summer and loved them! We just had some ginger vodka….oh grrl, it’s good!!
Ah, a sure sign that the long hot summer is here! Tastes so good on a hot afternoon!
