Hood in progress

Although knitting time has been scarce lately, I’m nearing the finish on the Central Park Hoodie. I finished the hood, and now I’m starting the front bands. I’ve been able to try it on, and I’m very pleased with it so far, so I’m excited to finish. I still haven’t decided what to do about the front bands, though. I don’t want to knit regular buttonholes, and I don’t want to do a zipper. I was thinking of doing an I-cord bind-off, and incorporating buttonholes or loops there, and maybe using toggles instead of buttons. Hmmmm. What to do, what to do…

And then I have to figure out what to work on next! I’m leaning towards Tubey using the di.Ve’ Zenith I recently bought from Webs. I bought a dark brown for the body, plus a cinnamony-brown, an orange, an off-white, and a green for the stripes–but I don’t plan to do as many stripes as in the pattern. Probably just some at the bust and on the sleeves. And maybe not with all of those colors. The downside is that this pattern (and the stripes) will involve some thinking and planning, and I’m really looking for something a bit more mindless.

So in the meantime, I’m also thinking about starting the Forest Canopy shawl with a skein of Plain & Fancy Sheep & Wool Co. yarn in some nice, earthy colors - just right for Project Spectrum for an April/May project (as is Tubey!). The pattern was a gift from Susan, and the yarn a gift from Mim - two very wonderful and talented women. It’s sure to be a great project.

I-cord and toggles would look great!
FC will be great with Grayce’s yarn, too. You’ve got some fun knitting ahead.

Your CPH is looking lovely. I can’t wait to see what you do with the front closure.

I made Tubey… and it didn’t work out for me. It ended up waaay too big, and the back looked odd. I should have figured out that the yarn I was using wasn’t the right ply (thickness), especially when the pattern uses 5.00mm needles and not 4.00mm usually recommended for 8ply (DK) yarns!!!

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of I-cord and toggles. Have you decided yet?
