Feelin’ Frisky

Published February 28, 2008 by cheryl

There’s nothing like a warm, sunny spring-like day to bring you out of the doldrums after a long, cold, snowy winter. It’s sure to put a smile on your face, a twinkle in your eye, and a spring in your step. How wonderful to put on a hand-knit cardigan as you leave the house and have it be more for the fashion statement than for needed warmth.

After a lovely lunch with friends to celebrate a birthday, I spent the afternoon with my mother. We enjoyed watching the quail in her back yard - who are definitely feeling a bit frisky. Five gentlemen quail all chasing a single female around the yard. It won’t be long before we see those cute little fuzzy chicks.

A trip to the grocery store not only provided me with some highly-coveted “Barely Buzzed” cheese*, but I also got to spend a few minutes relaxing in a massage chair while my mother picked up her prescription at the pharmacy. I entertained myself by reviewing the contents of the shelf across the aisle - personal lubricants, condoms, home pregnancy tests, and believe it or not - an over-the-counter DNA paternity test. Who knew?

Barely Buzzed and G&T

I still got home in plenty of time to enjoy a bit of sun on the back deck with some Siljans crisp bread topped with “Barely Buzzed”, and something to get me barely buzzed - a gin and tonic. What could be finer on such a day?

Oh, well, there’s this of course. Yes, I’m a tease.

Scoop du Jour

Think Spring!

* ETA: “Barely Buzzed” cheese from Utah’s own Beehive Cheese Co. is an award-winning cheddar that’s rubbed with lavender buds and ground coffee. That’s the edible dark rind you see in the photo.
