Scoop du Jour

It’s done!  No time for an outdoor photo shoot, so this will have to do. On my monitor, the color looks very close to the real deal. Perfect for Project Spectrum’s fire entry.
I can already tell that I’ll be getting a lot of wear out of this one.

Feelin’ Frisky

There’s nothing like a warm, sunny spring-like day to bring you out of the doldrums after a long, cold, snowy winter. It’s sure to put a smile on your face, a twinkle in your eye, and a spring in your step. How wonderful to put on a hand-knit cardigan as you leave the house and […]

Tulip Time Too

I was excited to see Heather’s blog post yesterday of “It’s Tulip Time“, as tulips are my favorite flower and I was expecting to see some tulip eye candy. Well, I did, but not the kind I expected. Instead of flowers, it was a really cute little baby cardigan.
But later in the day […]

So You Wanna Know About the Blocking Board

I noticed on one of Susan’s posts a while back that she had what looked like a great blocking board, with nice grids on it. She told me it was just a cheap pattern board she bought at Jo-Ann’s, and that she was thinking she’d have to cover it with plastic if she used it […]

Blocking

My Scoop du Jour is blocking - I’m anxious to start the assembly and do the neck and button bands. And a note to Susan - I covered the el-cheapo pattern board with clear Contact paper. Except for one corner - I didn’t have quite enough of the Contact paper.  So for that, I just […]

Ode to Cioppino

I was unbelievably thrilled to see that my local Costco (18th South/3rd West) has FINALLY gotten the award-winning Orca Bay Cioppino back.
Cioppino (”che-PEE-no”) is an Italian seafood stew - a variety of seafood in a slightly spicy tomato broth. Good on its own, or you could serve it over pasta or rice. The Orca Bay […]

D is for…

I’m not doing the ABC-along, but most people are on “D” now, and I Decided to Do a D Post anyway.
D is for… Delayed Christmas
My husband and I usually try to buy something for Christmas that we wouldn’t ordinarily buy for ourselves, but this last year we were stumped, and didn’t end up buying anything. […]

There’s a Goat in the Bathtub!

Unfortunately, I don’t have a photo of it. But I do have this pic of the little baby, being fed by my cousin’s daughter:

My cousin just got a baby goat. And yes, they’re really keeping it (him? her?) in the bathtub. In a dog crate. But it’s only temporary. The goat needs to be […]

WIP Wednesday

First up, Woolen Gloves, by Veronik Avery (one done, one to go). Yes, it looks a bit long and skinny when it’s not being worn. You’ll just have to wait for both to be done to see them being modeled. Unfortunately, I did forget that Margene had a problem with the thumb gusset, and therefore […]
