Giving Thanks

mittens

These mittens are the start of my Knit Unto Others projects. The tiny mittens on the left were supposed to be “child size”, but they’re more like “baby size”. Ah well, I suppose they’ll fit someone. Knitting for those less fortunate is only a very, very small way of being grateful for what I’ve been blessed with.

Today is Thanksgiving in the United States, and DH and I will be going to my mother’s house to celebrate. (Though secretly I’ll be celebrating the fact that her non-working oven finally got fixed YESTERDAY, so she’ll be able to cook the turkey and other assorted items - otherwise I was going to have to make an early morning run this morning to pick everything up, cook it over here, and then schlep it back over there. Not to mention that I had my OWN things I was supposed to be cooking. I probably would have had to borrow my neighbor’s oven too.) Ah well, it would have worked out no matter what - because Thanksgiving isn’t about the food, it’s about being grateful for your lives, your friends, and your family.  And you, my friends, are most definitely included.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
