A Fine Retreat

I’m back from the weekend retreat, having had to leave early to attend to prior commitments tonight.
Silver Fork Lodge was a nice getaway, especially with how smoky the valley has gotten from the California fires blowing in. The rooms are rustic - no telephone or TV, not that we needed them. But they do have a nice log-cabin-type charm. (But they did have a wireless network available.)![]()
Michaele flew in for a quick trip, while Eileen needed to rely on a little extra lighting (the knitting space was not too well lit). Meanwhile, Chris watched as Laurie showed us her new wheel.
We had a great evening, followed by a lovely breakfast (the corned beef hash won out, since I had a trout salad for dinner the night before). Katherine and Susan joined us for a late breakfast, and then the group headed off to the ‘living room’ for more knitting.
Sadly, Margene did not join us as she’s been feeling ill, but hopefully she’ll be up to having
breakfast with the group tomorrow. But I had a single-malt scotch for her at dinner. (Oh, and Margene, have you checked your front door lately?) More of the grrls will be arriving this afternoon, either for a short visit, or to stay overnight.
I’m not quite sure what the lodge staff thought of our group, but even one of the waitresses wanted us to help her with her knitting.

Looks like good times. Wish I could be there!
Oh, I would’ve loved to be there!
Please tell me she is NOT keeping her wool in a trash can.
Thank you, thank you….the tea was such a thoughtful gift. I so appreciate you for going out of your way to drop it off to me. Every last bag has been consumed and helped me ward off nausea. I think I’ll be staying home agian today:-(
I wish I could have been there; it looks like y’all had so much fun!
great photos! wasn’t it fun?
(yes, heather, I am keeping my wool in a trash can. But it’s a NICE trash can–never used for trash)
