August

Well, here I am at the huge Tan-Tar-A resort on the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. It’s hot, hot, hot - but is supposed to be cooler for the next few days. But like they say, it’s not the heat, it’s the humidity…
I was planning to do my August Snap-A-Dozen days from here, […]

A Post with Actual Knitting Content

I know there hasn’t been a lot of knitting content, but that’s because I haven’t had much knitting time other than at SnB, and I really don’t have much new to show.
The Shore Set Hoodie is moving along, though. The front and back are done, and I’m working on the hood. I held off […]

Friday’s Flowers

Today’s flower is Coreopsis. I’ve forgotten offhand which variety, since I have several. But these are great garden plants because they provide so many flowers throughout the year, and their bright color is so cheerful.

To celebrate, I’m having a contest. Leave a comment on this post by midnight (where you live) on Thursday August 23rd, and tell me something you […]

Blue Monday

Today was the memorial service for our friend David. It was a touching tribute to him, and as is usually the case, we learned much about him that we hadn’t known before. I knew that he was a musician, but didn’t know that he played the clarinet. Or that he told his father that […]

In Memoriam

Our SnB group was saddened today to find out that one of our members passed away earlier this week. David was an amazing knitter who would often entertain us with his quick wit and musical talent. It just doesn’t seem real, and I keep thinking that I’ll find out that it’s all a mistake. I […]

Friday’s Flowers

Today’s flowers are squash blossoms (zucchini). Usually they’re closed by the time I get around to going outside, but once in awhile I drag myself out early enough to see what’s going on in the morning.

How to Gain 10 Pounds in One Year

Go to work for a hi-tech company where the free food flows like tap water. Witness the standing freezer full of food and the cabinet-of-food (there’s also a separate fridge/freezer combo besides this, PLUS another chest freezer in another area), not to mention the fresh fruit, soft drinks, bottled water, etc. Now you know […]
