Pattern Support: Diamond Illusions Wrap
This easy lace wrap is knitted in one piece from end to end,
including the borders, eliminating the need for knitting a separate
edging. It features a picot bind-off, which is then worked along the
cast-on edge to finish-either by picking up the cast-on stitches, or
by use of a provisional cast-on. The diamond/zig-zag pattern at each
end of the wrap is meant to give the illusion of three-dimensional
boxes. No grafting is required!
Requires basic lace knitting techniques and the ability to read lace
charts. Lace pattern is provided in chart form only.
Size: Approximately 19" x 72" laid flat (will stretch in
length when worn)
Finished size may be easily modified in width by working more or
fewer stitch repeats within each chart, and may be modified in
length by working more or fewer repeats of the central chart.
Yarn:
Skylark Yarns "Luminescence" yarn (American alpaca and soy
silk, 200 yds, 60g); 4 skeins
Gauge: Approximately 14.5 stitches and 26 rows = 4" over
chart B, lightly blocked, using US 7 (4.5mm) needles, or size to
obtain gauge. Exact gauge is not critical, but a larger or smaller
gauge will affect the final dimensions of the wrap.
